Conference Speech
KEYNOT SPEECH
At 10:00 AM on December 12, Dr. Xiang Yong, CEO of TsingBosch, delivered a keynote at the session titled
“Smart Battery Usage in Automotive Applications: Machine Learning and AI for Battery Development from Materials to Manufacturing”.
His talk, “The Critical Role of Ultrasonic Inspection in EV Battery Safety,” focused on the importance of battery safety and the versatile application of ultrasonic testing in manufacturing, deployment, and reuse.
Dr. Xiang explained how ultrasonic inspection identifies hidden defects such as electrode misfolding and sealing issues during production, preventing faulty cells from entering the market. In the operational phase, ultrasonic detection enables real-time monitoring of gas evolution and lithium dendrite formation, effectively mitigating risks such as thermal runaway. For second-life applications, the technology provides reliable data to evaluate cell reusability.
He also presented cutting-edge research combining ultrasonic detection with AI, significantly improving diagnostic accuracy and optimizing battery health assessments and safety protocols — a key to safer electric vehicles.
The Q&A session, moderated by Dr. Weihan Li, Research Group Leader at RWTH Aachen University, sparked enthusiastic discussion. Experts and attendees delved into the integration of smart diagnostics and battery optimization, sharing insights that further advanced collective understanding in the field.
Winning the “Best in Show” award at AABC not only recognizes TsingBosch’s technological excellence but also affirms the team’s dedication to excellence in every step of development and execution. TsingBosch will continue to uphold this spirit by investing in R&D and leveraging innovation to continuously improve its products and technologies.
By collaborating with global leaders, the company seeks to promote the safe and sustainable growth of the electric vehicle industry.
